District Governor – Greg King

 

Lion Greg has been a lion since 2015 after a 36 year career with the Canadian Armed Forces.  When he retired from the CAF he moved back to Newfoundland & Labrador where he and his wife, Patrice, joined the Pouch Cove Lions Club.  His father late PDG Clayton King was the Charter President and his mother Evelyn King is still very active in the Pouch Cove Lions Club.  

 

Lion Greg held the positions of President for two consecutive years, Secretary, Zone Chair, District GMT, Constitution & Bylaws committee, Lions Quest Foundation Chair for three years and continues to serve his club this year as Treasurer.  He chaired many club activities and was always ready to assist the club in any way possible. 

 

During his military career, he had the opportunity to serve on numerous committees and chaired many events across Canada and overseas while in Afghanistan.  He is currently a Councillor for the Town of Pouch Cove since 2016 and holds the position of Economic and Development Chairperson.   He is the member of two National Sport committees and hold the Chief Official of Masters Swimming Canada position.  Due to his extensive experience in August 2017, he was selected to be Chief Official for Fina World Masters in Budapest and again in August 2019, for the Worlds Master swimming competition in South Korea. He is also an official with Swim NL.       

 

Lion Greg is married to Lion Patrice King and they have three boys, two grandchildren and two Golden Retrievers who are very much a part of the family.
